Being a Woman
Being a woman is hard. Being is hard. The romantic idea of being in the moment is something we boast about, but do we do it?
I have been absent these past months because of exams and school in general. But that's the problem. When I am absent, I am also absent in being. I forget about the primordial, and I focus on issues that are rather insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Sure, we all have duties, and things to do that will affect our future, but we also forget to take the time to realize that we are in the right place right now. Everything around us is beautiful. We live in an abundant world.
Given these romantic thoughts, I bought a lovely record player from Urban Outfitters. It was half-off, I couldn't resist.
After buying it, the record player sat in my room for a while, until I decided to buy the best possible album to go with this romantic way of listening to music. It's a much more fulfilling way of enjoying music as the sound quality is much better; It's raw and almost alive.
I bought the record WOMAN by Rhye because this band is magical. Seriously. Everything about this album is perfect. It transcends you into a different space. It is relaxing. Especially during my romantic nights when I am wide awake, this album can seduce and ease anyone who hears it.
Aside from being very instrumental, the most beautiful thing about this album is the passion derived from a woman. A woman as a form of inspiration. Her body, her mind, her actions.
I love being me, a woman, because I give life and love to everyone. I am proud to be a woman because I am strong and beautiful. I love all things that push me forward.
I am me when I write, and when I smile and help others. I want to remember always to be present BE in the world.
Till next time,
Ria.
