It has almost been a year since I entered college. Ain't that crazy? For me, time has gone way too fast to the point where I wish I could've known these five things about life before arriving to a new phase in my life: college. Attending a University is truly an exhausting and rewarding experience that has pushed me out of my comfort zone and consequently made me a better person. Although it was intimidating here are five things I learned:
1) You Only Need A FEW Good Friends
I tried meeting a lot of people to become friends with them, but it is truly challenging to distinguish a relationship between "can you, will you, give me" and one that is actually based on love and appreciation. Honestly, it is more rewarding to have a close knit of friends that are there to support you and make you smile. This year I have truly learned that real friends are those which I can be around and not feel judged. There is not time to be wasting on people who are unwilling to be true. NEXT!
2) Not Everyone Will Like You, It's Okay
Apparently, there is always something wrong with you. But sometimes we have to accept that people will always find a flaw (which we all have many) that they just can't stand. Here is where you draw the line and accept that maybe this person is not worth the time which you invest in the relationship. Once things begin to turn upside down, the best decision is to distant yourself from such a negative person. This may sound cliche, but we only live once and I would rather be amongst people which I feel comfortable with and know that they are not speaking nonsense behind my back.
There is this great quote from House
3) Hard Work Truly Pays Off.
Doing the best in the things which we embark on really shows. Standing out does not necessarily mean you surpass others, but rather you put your heart, sweat, and tears into it. Even if it seems that there is too much struggle and no improvement others will notice you. Greatness is often not present when we boast of our abilities, but declared in the recognition of others. Dedication pays off.

4) Things Really Just Happen And You Have To Forget And Forgive
The harder we try to make them happen the worse they will probably turn out. Often when we fail miserably and loose our temper (or is that just me?). I realized that there is no point in trying to make something happen when its probably not meant to be. This applies to events we wish we could have gone, but also to people we wish we would have not met. Either way, forgetting is important, but forgiving is vital. Learning to forgive is a rewarding and soothing to the soul. Grudges at someone block your happiness and improvement. Let go and continue moving forward, for I know you are better than that.

5) Setting Goals, Taking Naps, & Eating Chocolate.
Setting goals to keep you going and moving forward. Getting some rest to stay young and in a good mood. But specially eating chocolate to maintain the soul happy, really happy.
