Rich

Do you know how to be incredibly rich? YES, RICH! I think I might.
Just recently, I watched a wonderful video on Facebook. I don't quite remember where, but I clearly remember the message: how to be rich of emotion and fulfillment. While many of us aspire for material possessions to prove our worth, it is often the action of giving back the most fulfilling. I say this because the video went something like this. A single man barely having enough money for himself always helped others. During his usual walk to work the man gave a woman and a child as much money as he could, he placed a plant where sun and water can nurture it, and helped a woman with her heavy cart. All these things are insignificant; maybe.
One day, walking through his usual path, the man notices that the young homeless girl that accompanied a woman is missing. With sadness in his eyes he stares at the woman thinking the worst. Suddenly, the child--dressed in full uniform with a smile on her face--run to give him a hug. The hard-earned money brought hope, fulfillment, and tears to my eyes. The man not only gained new friends and a calm conscience, but fulfilled something completely bigger than himself. His kindness altered the life of an individual that will soon strive to be a better person.
The man might have seen to be empty handed, but his heart and soul were not. They were full of happiness and accomplishment. Therefore, don't expect anything in return, instead, accept the fact that people will not always be grateful for what you have given them (whether being a small or large gesture). It might be hard, trust me, but in the end God will reward you with the same kindness you gave others.
Happy Monday.
